The Bible...
We believe the Bible was written by people guided by God’s Spirit and affirm what it is: authoritative, inspired, illumined by the Spirit and useful for teaching, correcting, and wisdom [Psalm 119.105-112; John 16.12-14; 17.17; 2 Timothy 3.16-17]
Jesus...
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, the one and only Savior [John 1:14, 1 John 4:9, John 3:16, 2 Peter 3:18], who was born Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary [Matthew 21:11, John 19:19, John 1:14, Romans 5:16-17, Colossians 2:9, 1 John 1:1, Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:26-38]. He suffered and was crucified under Pontius Pilate [Luke 23:1-46], died and was buried, and rose again bodily from the dead on the third day [Luke 23:44-24:8, John 20:24-29, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8]. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father [Luke 22:69, Acts 1:1-9, Colossians 3:1], and will return to earth to judge both the living and the dead [Matthew 24:36-42, John 14:1-3, Acts 1:10-11, Acts 10:39-42, 1 Peter 4:5].
The Holy Spirit...
We believe Jesus Christ sends the Holy Spirit to dwell in the hearts of believers, empowers them with gifts, convicts, guides, comforts, counsels, and leads us into truth through a communal life of worship and a missional expression of our faith. [John 14.26; 20.21-23; Ephesians 1.17-19; Acts 1.8]
The Nature of Man...
We believe God created all things good and all people in God’s image for relationship with God, each other, ourselves, and creation. [Genesis 1-2; 1 Timothy 4.4] People’s rebellion against God broke their relationship with God and continues to perpetuate sin, death, brokenness, and destruction in our world. [Genesis 3.15; Romans 5.12; Colossians 1.21] We believe God has not abandoned creation, and in love, sent to earth God’s one and only Son Jesus, fully God and fully human, born of a virgin and without sin to redeem all creation. [Matthew 1.28-55; John 1; John 3.16-17; Romans 8.19-25; Colossians 1.15-20]
Salvation...
Jesus came proclaiming a new arrival of the Kingdom of God—a reality marked by love, grace, peace, and joy. Through his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus defeated sin and death inaugurating a new creation that offers all people eternal life now. Jesus is the only way to access the free gift of grace, renewed peace, and reconciliation with God. [John 1.29; Romans 3.22-26; 5.1-9; Mark 4.26; Romans 14.17; 1 Corinthians 4.20; 2 Corinthians 5.17; Hebrews 1.1-3; Revelation 21.5]
The Church...
The church is rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ, practicing spiritual disciplines, and celebrating baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The church is the local and global community of Jesus followers who proclaim [through word and action] the good news of forgiveness, restoration, and reconciliation for all. [Matthew 22.36-40; 28.19-20; John 20.21-23; 2 Corinthians 5.16-21]
Christ's Return...
Jesus will return to judge the world, bringing an end to injustice and restoring all things to God’s original intent. God will reclaim this world and rule forever. Our relationships with God, others, creation, and ourselves will be whole. All will flourish as God intends. This is what we long for. This is what we hope for. [Isaiah 11.1-9; Isaiah 65.19-25; Matthew 19.28; Acts 3.21; Colossians 1.19-20; 2 Peter 3.13; Revelation 21]

Our Values...

Forward
We have great confidence that God will restore all of creation under the authority of Christ. We believe that every church has to ask the question: “What does it look like for us to live out that future reality today?” We are constantly exploring, questioning, and wrestling with new and creative ways to live out and communicate the teachings of Jesus. Because we see faith as a journey, change is assumed, innovation is expected, and rebirth is welcomed.

Inward
We believe that God wants to bring about a new humanity by redeeming every part of us. We embrace the salvation Jesus offers as the only hope for the healing of our relationships with God, each other, ourselves, and creation. We believe that all of life is spiritual, and that all of our fears, failures, and brokenness can be restored and made whole. We value the inner journey because we want to be fully integrated people—mind, body, and soul, emotions and experiences all offered together to God.

Withward
We value the image of God in all people, everywhere. We believe that we were created to live deeply with one another, carrying each other’s burdens, sharing our possessions, to pray for and confess our sins to each other, to suffer and celebrate together. It’s in these honest, loving relationships that God transforms us and truth becomes a reality. The way of Jesus cannot be lived alone.

Outward
We believe that Jesus is God in human form and that the Church is God’s ongoing presence in the world. Led by the Spirit of God, we are passionate about relieving suffering and fighting injustice, joining the God of the oppressed in living out the transforming message of the resurrected Jesus. Jesus calls his Church to be a compelling force for good in the world, and we believe that the Church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices, and loves, caring about the things God cares about. We were created to live for something larger than ourselves.

Backward
We affirm the central truths of historic orthodox Christian faith, seeing ourselves in a long line of generations taking part in the endless conversation between God and people. We believe the Bible to be the voices of many who have come before us, inspired by God to pass along their poems, stories, accounts, and letters of response and relationship with each other and the living God. To know where we’re going, we have to know where we’ve been.

Upward
We take great joy in partnering with God to change the world, embracing the truth that all of life is sacred, hope is real, and tomorrow can be better than today. We celebrate the divine in the daily, pursuing lives of hope, gratitude, and worship. God invites everyone everywhere into this way of life, and we believe it is the best possible way to live.
